5 Things To Get The Dad That Has Everything (And Doesn’t Want Anything) For Father’s Day

Father’s Day is June 18th

Do you have a special guy in your life that not only has everything but doesn’t want anything? My husband is notorious for buying himself what he wants whenever he wants it. He also claims to not want anything when I ask him (who doesn’t want anything?). It is a frustrating predicament to be as holidays and birthdays approach. Being the most excellent wife and mother that I am, I have come to rely on the 5 below go-to gifts for my difficult shopper.

  1. Get Handy
Say what you want, but every dad in any living situation could use a new tool or two. My kids like to steal my husbands tools and use them to “chop down” the grass in the backyard. Ultimately leaving the tools in the grass to get wet and rusty. Perhaps your kids are better behaved than mine and the special guy in your life just needs a tool upgrade.
  2. Get Fashion
If fashion were left up to my husband, he would wear tank tops with ratty shorts every day of the year. Not only is it tacky, it’s also embarrassing (to me, not him). Therefore, I buy him a new outfit or two for every holiday and birthday. It may not be the most exciting gift to open but this gift does the rest of us a favor from embarrassment.
  3. Get Full
They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. My most favorite days are spent in the kitchen preparing food that I know my family will love.
  4. Get Fun
Back before we had kids and I had the what-to-buy-the-guy-that-has-everything-and-wants-nothing predicament I would buy my then boyfriend (now husband) fun experiences. One year I sent him and his dad on a swim with sharks experience. Sure, he may have gotten horrible sea sickness but it’s the thought that counts. Another year I bought him Dodgers tickets. Sure they were located in the sun and we all got horrible sun burns but it’s the thought that counts.
  5. And last but not least, get the kids pick it out
When you’re at your wits end and no matter how hard you’ve tried you can’t think of anything fantastic to get your special guy…let the kids pick out the gift. No one can deny the cuteness of a kid picked out gift. Sure, it may be a new Batman doll but that makes it even more special.

What are you getting your special guy for Father’s Day this year? Tell us in the comment below!
