Bottle Feeding With Love
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends exclusively breastfeeding for the first six months of babies life. However, sometimes that’s not possible for several possible reasons (physical complications, maternal work, comfort etc). I’m all about breast feeding but I have to be honest and say that sometimes a break with dad bottle feeding can work wonders on my overly tired body. In that case, I have high standards on what kind of bottles to use. I look for bottles that have wide, soft nipples and a superb anti-colic system. Easy Transition
The ability to switch back and forth between bottle and breast is a mothers dream (trust me, I’ve done it 4 times). I appreciate the break and my husband loves the time to bond with the baby. What makes the LATCH bottle from Munchkin so special is it’s unique and extraordinary nipple. The LATCH nipple has the ability to Stretch, Pump and Move. And it is made of a super soft, flexible material.
Stretches – A proper latch is achieved when mom’s nipple reaches all the way back to baby’s soft palate. The accordion-style nipple on LATCH stretches like the breast, helping baby latch easily and correctly.
Pumps – When breastfeeding, baby controls the flow of milk by applying pressure to the base of mom’s nipple. The LATCH bottle mimics mom by releasing more breast milk as baby pushes against the nipple’s base.
Moves – While feeding, the accordion-style nipple flexes as baby moves her head. This allows baby to maintain her latch, thus decreasing ingestion of air.
The anti-colic valve located at the bottom of the bottle allows for breast milk to flow while ensuring air bubbles do not travel through. This is a important feature in any bottle for me, as my babies usually have serious tummy problems.
