Last week the kids and I were invited to the Sony Animation Studios in Culver City for a Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2 DVD release press day. Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity and since I’m such a stellar mother I pulled my oldest out of school to go too. Because, I mean, hello a chance to meet Barry and Dill?
Cloudy OBSESSED
Ever since my oldest was about 3 years old he periodically gets obsessed with movies. And I mean obsessed. To the point where he’ll watch the same movie every day, multiple times a day if I were to let him. Thankfully, he always gets obsessed with the best movies with the best morals and story lines too. Currently, his movie obsession is Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs and Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2. Which I love.
Giant Mutant Foodimals?
Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2 is cute, cute, cute. I mean, the movie is cute. Not to forget that it’s also highly creative, entertaining and has a really great moral and story line too. In Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2, Flint Lockwood is given the special scientist mission to go back to the island where his food making machine has created giant mutant foodimals. Along with his friends (like my favorite character – the lovable and nerdy Sam Sparks) they set out on a mission to stop the insanity before the foodimals spread. On their adventure their friendships and opinions are tested.
Speaking of foodimals, we got to create our own during the Press Day. Which my kids loved and have asked to do every day at home since then.
My daughter and my oldest son made their own versions of Barry – their favorite character from the film.
The baby decided to just eat the banana he was given to make a Bananostrich. Babies. What can you do?

During the press day we also had the opportunity to check out the new Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2 app for iPhone and iPads. It was super fun and both my 7 and 3 1/2 year old loved playing it.
The app is free to download and you have the opportunity to sync the app to your Blu-Ray copy of Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2 to collect and unlock foodimals! The app is available through Google Play and at the App store.
We had a super great time at the press day because we genuinely love this movie!
