Recently I was invited to attend a two day event at DreamWorks Animation studios to learn all about the DreamWorks Trolls that are taking over Netflix. Next month I’ll be able to tell you all about the new Trolls: The Beat Goes On, coming to Netflix in January 2018. For now, I get to tell you all about the exciting new season of Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia!
I’ll tell you as a mother of two girls, Trollhunters was a show we were skipping past, but not anymore. I got a sneak peek at the new season and heard from show creators and rushed home to watch with my girls. It’s our new favorite show to watch together, I even got my husbands attention when he noticed that Guillermo del Toro was involved. I feel like most people don’t know that Trollhunters comes from the incredible imagination of master storyteller Guillermo del Toro. Yup!
Show synopsis:
When ordinary teenager Jim Lake Jr. stumbles upon a mystical amulet on his way to school one morning, he inadvertently discovers an extraordinary secret civilization of mighty trolls beneath his small town of Arcadia. Strong-willed and seeking adventure but wholly unprepared for the responsibilities thrust upon him, Jim is forced to take on the exalted mantle of Trollhunter, sworn to protect the good trolls from powerful enemies bent on revenge.

The magic, the action and the adventure are all set to a reality that many kids can relate to and I think that’s a fun part of the story. Jim is just an average high school kid when he becomes the Trollhunter. His life, his school and his friendships all become mixed together with the fun Trolls he meets along the way. The balance of it all is just a fun part of the story.
The first season of DreamWorks Trollhunters premiered last December with an astounding 26 episodes! The much anticipated Season two just premiered December 15th, but this time with only 13 episodes and just in time for Winter break!

Season 2 features new voices Mark Hamill, Lena Headey and David Bradley, who join Kelsey Grammer in his Emmy-winning role as Blinky, Steven Yeun (Steve), Anjelica Huston (Queen Ursurna), Jonathan Hyde (Strickler), Amy Landecker (Barbara) and Charlie Saxton (Toby). The late Anton Yelchin, who completed recording through Part 2, voices the lead role of Jim Lake, Jr.
DreamWorks Trollhunters is a magical and adventurous story told with such interesting storytelling and powerful award winning visuals. That have raised the bar for future animated series. Check out the awesome adventure in Part 2! Now on Netflix.
