Find Your Flock – Storks Coming to Theaters 9/23

Are You Ready To Find Your Flock?

Storks deliver babies…or at least they used to. From the same makers of The Lego Movie and Happy Feet, Warner Brothers Animation newest film “Storks” has been released in 2D and 3D at select theaters nationwide today. Now that the Storks are no longer in the baby delivery business they’re delivering packages for global internet retail giant “CornerStore.com” (which is an actual store). However, in any good film: a complex problem arises in the Storks world and hilarity ensues in this bright and creatively hilarious film. We had the pleasure of attending a pre screening of Storks at the Warner Bros Studio.

Corporate ladder climbing Stork “Junior” and the only human on Stork Mountain: orphan “Tulip” get themselves in a hurl of trouble when Junior accidentally activates the Baby Making Machine (which, sadly..is not what you’re picturing). Unbeknownst to them an adorable and wholly unauthorized baby girl with bright pink hair named “Diamond Destiny) is…uh..produced? A hilarious journey with an underlying heartwarming moral ensues as Junior and his friend Tulip race to make their first ever baby drop to a well-deserving family.

The Credentials

The animated adventure “Storks” stars Andy Samberg (“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” “Hotel Transylvania”), Kelsey Grammer (“Toy Story 2,” “The Simpsons”), Katie Crown (Cartoon Network’s “Clarence”), Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele (Comedy Central’s “Key & Peele”), and Danny Trejo (“The Book of Life”). The film is directed by Nicholas Stoller (“Neighbors,” BAFTA nominee for “Muppets Most Wanted”), and Doug Sweetland (supervising animator on “Cars,” Oscar-nominated director of the animated short “Presto”).

Your Flock is your Family and your Family is Your Flock!

The film’s message – that everyone deserves love and family is what you make of it, even all types of people and couples is very sweet and very poignant in this day and age. However, I must admit – the comedy of the film was my favorite. The wolves licking the baby? I can never get enough. Director Nicholas Stoller and Producer Brad Lewis attempted to make an animated film like no else with a fresh and new combination of animation and live action comedy movie making geniuses. Unlike other animated films, I found Storks to be wildly original and wildly creative and very witty. Each of my children loved, loved, loved it and I can say I did too!

The Storks Press Conference

During the Storks press conference held in Beverly Hills, Director Nicholas Stoller of Neighbors movie fame, stated that he wanted to create a movie that was a type of love letter to parents that celebrated family. Unlike the film Neighbors where Stoller was relenting in his lost carefree single life and focusing on his newly bogged down life as a dad, Storks represents Nicholas Stoller’s love of family and desperation at having a second child.

Storks is a movie that celebrates family in all of its glory. From the diverse to the conventional, families come in all shapes, styles and sizes and “finding your own flock” is a wonderful message for the whole family. We give Storks a big TWO thumbs up.
