Adventure Comes ALIVE!
Did you read those choose-your-own-adventure books as a kid? I certainly did, they were my favorite. I loved getting lost in a story that I had control over. As an adult, fun like that is harder to come by. Have you ever wanted to be a part of an exciting, real-life, interactive story? Now until September 4th Ghost Town Alive! at Knotts Berry Farm is offering just that – a choose-your-own-adventure real life experience. Ghost Town Alive is the first immersive experience at a theme park, where guests are encouraged to become a part of the story. You can interact and strike up a conversation with characters all throughout Calico Ghost Town and be given tasks and assignments that are a blast. You may be asked to deliver packages, be sworn in as an official town citizens at the town hall, help capture the bad guys of the Mayfield Gang or even become Mayor for the day. We were invited to check out Ghost Town Alive for ourselves just this past weekend and we loved it, all opinions are our own.

Live New Adventures In The Old West
This summer, the Ghost Town Alive “story” continues a year after the notorious Mayfield Gang escaped the custody of Sheriff Wheeler. Word around town is the Mayfield’s have been spotted back in Calico and the townsfolk are in need of some help in capturing the bandits and keeping the town safe. Ghost Town Alive! will offer guests a firsthand experience to play an important part in this unfolding story of the wild west, with specific tasks and activities and an essential role as an honorary citizen of Calico. Trust me when I say it’s dynamically and wildy fun for the whole family!

Control Your Level of Adventure!
As a guest of the Ghost Town Alive experience you will have the ability to determine your own level of involvement. You could walk through Calico and view the actors as atmosphere talent, or engage the characters in a story for full immersion.
I took my two oldest kids along for a day full of Old West adventure. They’re not much of the in-your-face interactive type and they chose to observe the interactive aspect of Ghost Town Alive more than participate. That’s a whole bunch of words that basically say my kids are way too freaking shy to talk to strangers. haha. We had an amazing time nonetheless and they loved every second of it. We watched as children delivered packages and as guests became sworn in honorary citizens. Each and every character that we crossed paths with was in full-force method acting character. It was really neat!
