This title of this post may be a bit misleading to some of you. And I certainly hope you didn’t come here for actual decorating advice. I am clearly an inept decorator as my aesthetic is very specific. Specific as in like…only to my own house. haha. When we moved back to our hometown in Orange County, California I opted for what feels like a very clean, bright and “beachy” vibe. I like it when everything is clean and tidy. But not actually clean and tidy, just when it appears to look that way. For this home I have chosen the colors black, white, gray, blue and gold. To contrast the starkness of the black and white graphics I have brought in lots of silk plants. Having a few silk plants purposefully located throughout each room I feel brings a warmth and life to each room. We received product for review purposes, all opinions are our own.
I have two favorites for decorating with silk plants: white flowers and palms. There is something so graphically visually interesting to me about palm frond leaves. And white flowers have always been my favorite. The use of silk plants really has the ability to bring in a pop of color and life to any room.
I am still in the process of decorating the living room. I’m in need of a graphic area rug to set off the dark hardwood floors. And perhaps a coffee table as well. I like to decorate my home in leisure with several small trips to locale stores as well as shopping online for a few key pieces. This faux Areca Palm Tree from Silk Plants Direct adds a slice of paradise to my living room. I popped this gorgeous guy in a sweet white ceramic pot I picked up recently. The Areca Palm Tree filled an otherwise dead corner and it is perfect.
