There’s A New Market In Town

There’s a new market in town, one where not only can you the freshest produce and sweetest Pan Dulce around, but also one where you can pickup authentic ready made cuisine to go. Northgate Market has finally opened in Anaheim and we were invited to the grand opening. This is a sponsored post on behalf of Gigasavvy, all opinions are our own.

The kids and I knew we were near the grand opening of the Northgate Market in Anaheim, California from about a mile away. What caught our eye was the giant strings of balloons floating so high in the sky they were nearly reaching space (OK, not really). The kids were excited to partake in such fun festivities. The grand opening of the new Northgate Market in Anaheim wasn’t just a new market opening in town, it almost felt like a homecoming celebration. I’ve never experienced anything like it.

The first 300 customers to Northgate Market on July 20th received FREE groceries!

The Northgate Market Story

History excerpts from the Northgate Market website say it all: “The story of Northgate González Markets is the story of a family of immigrants that has fulfilled the American dream through vision, hard work and faith. On January 2nd of 1980, the first Northgate opened off of Anaheim Boulevard in Anaheim. With the opening of that first store, the “gates of the North” opened up to the Gonzalez Reynoso family. All the family worked there. They did everything from cutting meat and stocking grocery aisles, to maintenance and checking out customers. What started off as a small store on Anaheim Boulevard now extends into three counties: Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego.” What is most impressive to me about the Northgate Markets is that their mission of bringing quality to the community is really coming true. Miguel Sr. aimed to support his family with the first Northgate Gonzalez Market and now, not only is he supporting his own family and their families but the community at large as well.

Bringing Quality to the Community

The new Northgate Market located in Anaheim is a behemoth of a store, beautifully stocked with the best ingredients and served by the friendliest of customer service. Although immensely busy the day of our visit (for good reason of course), it wasn’t a few moments before a store worker asked if I needed assistance. Perhaps they just saw my utter amazement at the beauty of the new store. Who knows? Haha. I was blown away by every store department, most especially the bakery and the sweet Pan Dulce (check out that Pan Dulce bowl pictured above!!).

I love fresh flowers!

I cannot wait to go back in store to pick up a week or two worth of groceries for my family. My husband loves to cook carne asada and pollo on the grill. And the kids and I love to eat it! Northgate Market’s pre cooked carne asada, chorizo and carnitas are the best in town. They brought over the secret recipe from Mexico over 35 years ago!

As the kids and I were leaving the grand opening celebration of Northgate Market in Anaheim, I heard a customer exclaim with a full shopping cart that her bill only came to $26! That’s worth shopping for! We cannot wait to go back.
