Keep on Going!
Being the youngest sibling out of four in a family has got to be difficult, it always seems like my youngest is in a rush to keep up with her big brothers and sister. So much so, that she’ll rush through meals like the big kids do even though she didn’t have the opportunity to eat as much – just so that she may play with them! Therefore, this worried momma is always on the hunt to find nutritious snacks and bites that will support her growth and development all while helping teach her healthy eating habits. I created this insanely delicious oatmeal raisin cookie recipe with the added bonus of Go & Grow by Similac® Food Mix-Ins™ that provides nutrients to support her growth and development as she gets older.
My Secret Weapon For Added Nutrition!
Now that my toddler is eating table food and always on the run, it can be hard to tell if she is getting the nutrition her body needs. Go & Grow by Similac® Mix-Ins™ has over 25 essential vitamins and minerals to support growth and development. Best yet? It couldn’t be easier to use: I can mix the Go & Grow by Similac® Milk Based Powder in water for ready-to-go nutrition OR use the Go & Grow by Similac® Mix-Ins™ for a simple and nutritious recipe she’ll love with the nutrients she needs. It’s my secret weapon for added nutrition! Go & Grow by Similac® Mix-Ins™ and Go & Grow by Similac® Milk Based Powder are available at your local Walmart and at Walmart.com. I picked both up from Walmart.com in a flash!
SummerTime and the Snackin’ is Easy!
Now that it is officially summer time, I love, love, love having delicious homemade cookies on hand for the kids to snack on. What says 4th of July more than all-Americana oatmeal raisin cookies right? My girls and I had so much fun making these together – and little did they know that I used one Go & Grow by Similac® Food Mix-Ins™ for one serving (or ½ cup of food) for my toddlers cookies!
Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Recipe
3 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 flour
2 Sticks of Softened Butter
2 Large Eggs
1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
*Optional: Use one Go & Grow by Similac® Food Mix-Ins™ for one serving (or ½ cup of food).
Combine the Baking Soda and Flour in a bowl, set aside. Beat the sugar and butter together until creamy, add eggs. Slowly add dry ingredients, mix well. Stir in the Rolled Oats and Raisins (sometimes I’ll put in a pinch of cinnamon & salt for added flavor too). Chill batter in refrigerator for 1 hour. After the batter is chilled, separate 1/2 cup of batter into a another bowl and add one Go & Grow by Similac® Food Mix-Ins™, stir until mixed. *Use one Go & Grow by Similac® Food Mix-Ins™ for one serving (or ½ cup of food).
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve and enjoy!
Step-By-Step In Pictures!
Adding the Go & Grow by Similac® Food Mix-Ins™ to a 1/2 cup portion of the oatmeal raisin cookie recipe couldn’t have been any easier. I love that it stirs easily into food without changing the texture and that each packet has key nutrients that my daughter really needs (such as protein, fiber, calcium, vitamin D and other essential vitamins and minerals). Not to forget to mention that these cookies are insanely delicious!!
