I have a not-so-secret confession: I take pictures of my kids…perhaps I should clarify I mean I take A LOT of pictures of my kids. On average, I take about 20-30 pictures of my kids a day. Most of these pictures are taken with my iPhone because it is the handiest camera on me. Because truthfully, as much as I love taking pictures of my kids I love sharing those pictures with close friends and family instantly. Since I take so many pictures on a daily basis I do not want to saturate my social media feeds with trillions of pictures of my kids. I mean, as cute as my crazy, funny children may be most normal people would get sick of seeing their feeds full of my kids 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I am very selective about what I share in mass but that doesn’t mean that my close friends and family don’t get to see every nuance of our ordinary day. Since the baby was born I have been sharing a “weekly digest” of pictures with a few family members via text messages. However, these text messages don’t create a shared, collaborative experience. Here’s How It Works:
- Download the Seahorse App right from your phone. Simple search “Seahorse” and it will come up.
Download Seahorse via iPhone
Download Seahorse via Android - Sign in on the bottom right corner. You can use Facebook, Google + or Email.
- After signing up, follow these steps to create a scene and share with your friends:Tap the camera icon on the top right corner
- Tap “New Scene” to create a scene
- Enter a title in the “Title” field
- Invite at least two of your friends by tapping “Add Friends” and tapping their contact information
- Tap “Create”
- Your friends will receive an invite via email about downloading the app if they don’t have it already
Relive Memories Together
Sharing is great, but sharing in a way that allows your friends and family to add on is really cool. Say you have a big family get together, then someone creates a “scene” with the Seahorse App and then every family member (with Seahorse installed) can add pictures, comment and like the pictures. Then at the end of it all, you’ll have these collective, collaborative works of life art. I think that is so cool.
