Top 10 Kids Movies to Stream on Netflix on a sick day

Today, my 8 year old is home sick from school. I can count on one hand how many school days he has missed from being sick since he was in preschool, it’s simply something that doesn’t happen often. My son is one of those weird kids that likes going to school and he even complains when I take him out of school to do something fun – so it’s easy to say that having him home when he should be at school is odd. What is even more odd is that he’s just laying there on the couch like a sick fish instead of bouncing off the walls like his usual self. Having him home and sick on the couch has prompted me to write this post because at least if you don’t feel good you can still stream awesome stuff on Netflix.

The Top 10 Kids Movies To Stream on Netflix on a Sick Day

1. Annie (1982)
I grew up watching this movie on the regular. I love watching it with my kids now, it gives me the greatest sense of nostalgia.
2. Monkey Trouble (1994)
Hyjinx and monkeys? That’s sick kid laughter fodder right there.
3. Earth to Echo (available: 2/18/2015)
4. Mr. Peabody and Sherman (available: 2/11/2015)
5. The Croods (2013)
My son loves watching this movie and it’s entertaining enough that I can watch too
6. Adventure Time
My son is obsessed with the adventures of these goofy characters and I appreciate that he loves it so much and it keeps his attention
7. Jumanji (1995)
Starring the late Robin Williams, this action-adventure is a kid favorite around here
8. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989)
What kid doesn’t want to envision themselves the size of an ant when they’re home sick from school?
9. The Gruffalo (2009)
I love this sweet tale
10. Hook (1991)
Another classic starring the late Robin Williams, I love the story line and it’s funny.

I see a trend with The Funny Mom Blog’s top 10 kids movies to stream on Netflix on a sick day, they all seem to be fantasy action adventures! Perhaps that’s to help lift the mood and brighten the kids spirits!

Happy Streaming!
