Winter is coming to Orange County with real snow at Discovery Cube!
Winter is coming to Orange County with over 100 tons of snow at Discovery Cube! I’m so excited to share that one of our all-time favorite places to visit as a family is hosting a Winter Wonderfest this year. This Winter, snow and science combine at Discovery Cube’s Winter Wonderfest. Families will have the opportunity to learn about the science behind sledding down ice ramps and how snowflakes are formed – best yet you’ll have the fun opportunity to put your knowledge to action with real sledding, tubing, and snow play!! Snow in Orange County! My kids and I recently had a day full of Winter Wonderfest fun to check it all out and tell you all about it, all opinions are my own.
The Snow Play Area!
Designed for all ages, Winter Wonderfest includes amazingly fun attractions and interactive exhibits like sliding down a 70 foot long ramp on inner tubes, snowflake making, snowmen building, snow sledding, gingerbread derby racing and so much more!
Winter Wonderfest dates and times are as follows:
December 12 – December 13: 10am to 5pm
December 19 – January 3: 10am-5pm
Guests can pre-purchase tickets and use them for a one time use on any day and time during the ranges listed above.

Snow Tubing!
Experience science and physics in action and glide down Discovery Cube’s 70 foot long snow ramp! It looks SO fun!!
Snow Play!
Fun for all ages, the snow play area is where young and old can build snow castles and snowmen. You must have closed toed shoes on to enter but the snow is plush and perfect.
Snow Sledding!
The thrill and excitement of sledding down a hill is here at Discovery Cube. Real snow, real sleds, real fun. Or if that’s not your style, check out the bunny ramp for tots or the medium sized ramps perfect for kids 6-8 years old. My kids love a thrill and a bunny ramp is perfect!
Snow Science!
Learn about the physics of ski jumps and the science of a snowflake – one of nature’s most delicate creations. My oldest is very into STEM learning and this was the perfect fit for him.
Meet Santa!
Santa has landed at the Cube and wants to meet you for photos! Santa is available on select dates.
Science of Gingerbread!
Don’t miss the sweetest exhibit of the year! Activities include the Gingerbread Derby, Science of Snow stage show and cookie decorating and so much more!

Things To Know Before You Go:
- Winter Wonderfest is set outside so you must wear warm clothing like hats, gloves and warm shoes.
- No sandals! Closed toed shoes only.
- There is no age requirement to enter Winter Wonderfest, however all guests 3 and over need a ticket. Height Requirements: Snow Tubing: 44” Snow Sledding: 40” Younger guests can take part in activities such as smaller snow and sled ramps.

10th Annual Science of Gingerbread!
As if the Winter Wonderfest wasn’t enough fun, your family can experience the 10th Annual Science of Gingerbread featuring award-winning gingerbread creations, the “Science of Snow” stage show, and cookie decorating. We had a blast checking at the Kitchen Chemistry Learning Station, where my oldest son was enamored with the kitchen experiments.
