Can you feel it? School in back in session, the sun is setting earlier, the stores are starting to display sweaters and candles…Fall is in the horizon (the far, far horizon but still on it’s way!). Fall is a magical time of year that my family and I love. There is a lot of love about this magical season. For example: I love dressing the kids up in goofy outfits that are scratchy and uncomfortable and the kids love begging the neighbors for candy (aka trick or treating). One of my most favorite events is just about to begin – The Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch and it is fun for the entire family. In fact, we have a 12th Annual Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch Giveaway! Families are invited to have a wonderful day full of wholesome family fun, where the Pumpkin Patch will be open daily at 10:00 am, beginning September 16th through October 31st. We will be attending the pumpkin patch as members of the media, all opinions are our own.
The Pumpkin Patch is located in Locomotive Loop and Miner’s Meadow just behind the train station. Thousands of pumpkins, in all shapes and sizes, fill the areas behind the train station. After each of my children are done picking their annual pumpkins for carving from the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch, we like to find the most unique pumpkin that we can to display. The Irvine Park Railroad offers some of the most beautiful and interesting pumpkins I’ve ever seen!
But the amazing selection of pumpkins is not the only reason to go to the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch. There are tons of really fun activities to partake in. Activities include: Train rides, hay rides, panning for gold, a child-friendly haunted house, a hay maze, a moon bounce, pumpkin ring toss, carnival games, cookie decorating, John Deere tractor racers, face painting, picture stands, great food, and a lot more.
The Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off!
Irvine Park Railroad’s 2nd annual “Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off” will take place on Saturday, September 23rd starting at 11:00 am. Come see if pumpkin growers have what it takes to grow the biggest pumpkin. Cash prizes will be awarded. KTLA Channel 5 weatherman Henry DiCarlo will host this event and a live band will play on this day only from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Admission into the Pumpkin Patch is free. Prices for all other activities vary; please visit The Irvine Park Railroad for additional information and costs.
