Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible No Good, Very Bad Day world premiere in Hollywood #Verybadday

It Was A Very Good Day

It was a very good day at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood, California on Monday October 6th 2014 as celebrities and throngs of fans came out to the red carpet world premiere of the film Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, VERY BAD DAY. The film is an adaptation of the award winning book written by Judith Viorst in 1972 and the 2014 film is set to be a movie favorite. Stars Jennifer Garner, Steve Carell, Ed Oxenbould, Dylan Minnette, Kerris Dorsey and twins Elise Vargas and Zoey Vargas play the Cooper family that are unwittingly thrust into a “very bad day” upon Alexander (played by Ed Oxenbould) wish. My oldest son and I were guests to the red carpet world premiere and we had the time of our lives.

You Gotta Have The Bad Days So You Can Love The Good Days

The feature film: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, VERY BAD Day message is about keeping your chin up and your spirits up even though your day may not be going as best as expected. The film follows the efforts of sweet 11-year-old Alexander as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life. His day begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one huge disaster after another, but when Alexander tells his upbeat, happy family about his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him. In a moment of frustration he wishes his family would understand. Unbeknownst to everyone, the very next day his upbeat, popular family has a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day of their own.

Family Feature Film the Whole Family Will Love

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is a adorable family film that all ages will enjoy. I laughed alongside my near 8 year old son throughout the film. The film is interesting and engaging and I actually didn’t want it to end! Of course seeing the film inside the historic El Capitan theater was entrancing. I love the old Hollywood feeling, especially the live organ player before every show.

Celebrities Galore

The red carpet premiere for Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (geez that’s a long title!) featured celebrities galore. I personally saw Jennifer Coolidge, Joey Fatone, Steve Carell and the hotties of Thunder Down Under. My son who is 7 years old, didn’t quite understand the monumental specialness of the red carpet and kept asking to go inside the theater so he could get his popcorn and soda. I personally think he likes to go just to drink soda – a forbidden treat at home. With a little coxing I got him to stay on the carpet long enough to get my fill of celebrities. Seeing a celebrity in person, especially someone like Steve Carell whom I adore is just too cool for words. I feel honored to have attended the red carpet world premiere to be amongst such awesome greatness. It’s days like these that I thank my lucky, lucky stars.
