Created by the same Walt Disney Animation Studios team behind Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph, Big Hero 6 is an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax – a giant inflatable robot, and young Hiro Hamada. When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie GoGo Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon  and fanboy Fred. Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called non other than: Big Hero 6.

I took my two oldest children to see Big Hero 6 in the theater and I cried, I laughed and I fell in love with the movie and most especially with Baymax – the lovable health care companion with a big huggable body and a bigger heart. I could not wait to purchase the Blu-Ray/DVD to surprise my children with for a big Big Hero 6 movie night at home. Because I loved the film so much I went all out and I purchased a Big Hero 6 toy online from Walmart and I created fun Baymax inspired marshmallow treats to enjoy.

How to make a Baymax Marshmallow Craft

In honor of my favorite new Walt Disney Animated film, I created super easy and super adorable marshmallow treats for our Big Hero 6 movie night because I knew that my children would love it.

How To Make Baymax Marshmallows:

Ingredients:
1 Extra Large Marshmallow
4 Large Marshmallows
1 Black Edible Marker
3 toothpicks

Directions:
Snap toothpicks in half and insert in to 2 large marshmallows or the “center of the legs”, press toothpicks firmly into extra large marshmallow body. Cut one large marshmallow in half and attach the sticky side of marshmallow on each side of the extra large marshmallow. Attach one large marshmallow sideways on top of extra large marshmallow for the head. Using a black edible marker, create Baymax’s face. If you’ll be giving this treat to a child younger than 3 years old, do not use toothpicks. Simply attach marshmallow limbs with icing.

I had several marshmallows left over from creating this super cute full-body Baymax, so I decided to create a few Baymax faces. My kids loved these best because they could quickly (and sneakily) pop them into their mouths when I wasn’t looking!

To create Baymax’s iconic face, start with creating two large circles, fill them in and then create a small line in between the circles. I tried several ways to create the black face, by using black writing icing and again with m & m’s and I found the edible marker to be the easiest. I had this marker left over from a baking set.

My 4 children are very energetic and they have a hard time sitting still even during their most favorite movies. That is why I purchased the Big Hero 6 Rocket Fist and Mask online at Walmart. The fist is soft and when the action picks up in Big Hero 6 the kids hop up and pretend to fight the “bad guys” alongside Baymax and the rest of the crew. I love that this toy has made Big Hero 6 an interactive film at our house.

And besides, look how cute my 8 year old son looks in the mask!
