Chocolate Chip Cookie Cups Recipe, The Perfect Holiday Cookie

The holidays are around the corner, which for me – means baking, baking and more baking. I love to bake cookies. I bake for several reasons: It’s a great opportunity to spend genuine quality time with my kids in the kitchen. They love to help. Baking cookies is a great gift for neighbors. My neighbors have come to expect a Christmas tin full of delicious goodies. And it’s a great opportunity to be creative and have fun in the kitchen! Recently, I whipped up these beautiful chocolate chip cookie cups recipe of perfection…

Chocolate Chip Cookie Cups Recipe!

I chose to get really creative and make a “cookie cup” I made chocolate chip cookie cups now, but I’ll be testing this recipe out again soon with sugar cookies and even peanut butter cookies! I have created a printable recipe below, feel free to print it up and bake to your cookie loving hearts content!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Cups
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 9 mins
Total time: 19 mins
Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 bag Holiday semi-sweet red & green colored morsels
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. To create the cookie dough:
  3. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat softened butter, white sugar and brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until smooth. Add eggs, mix well. Slowly add in flour mixture to butter/sugar mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
  4. To create the cookie cups:
  5. Heavily spray (with a vegetable cooking spray) Mini Muffin Tin
  6. Scoop cookie dough and fill each muffin tin half way
  7. Use bottom end of your spoon to create a deep well in the middle of each muffin tin
  8. Cook cookies in muffin tin for 8-9 minutes, take the muffin tin out of the oven and use the bottom end of your spoon to reaffirm the well. I had to scoop out some dough in a few of the muffin tins that were too full.
  9. Place back in the oven for 2-3 more minutes
  10. Remove from oven, let cool for 2 minutes
  11. Fill each cookie well while still warm with red and white colored morsels. They will retain their shape and stick together. If you wait until the cookie cups are cooled, the morsels will not stick together and will fall out.
  12. Remove cookie cups from muffin tin when completely cooled
  13. Eat and Enjoy!

I cannot even begin to explain how delicious these things are right out of the oven. They are perfect for snacking on just because, for gifting to your favorite neighbor, or bringing to a holiday party.

One of the best things about this recipe, is that it is open to creative suggestions. You can use small chocolate chips, big chocolate chips, different flavored chips like peanut butter, different cookie batters, small muffin tins, big muffin tins, you name it! But at the end, it’s still cookies made from the best First Street ingredients!

I am going to gift these adorable chocolate chip cookie cups to our favorite neighbors. They are some of the best neighbors anyone can ask for. They are always helpful and we regularly borrow cups of sugar or eggs from each other. It’s adorable!
I think I’ll wrap them in a colored vellum, wrap them with a red ribbon and place them on their porch one afternoon this week! Yummo!
