Renowned family entertainment company The Jim Henson Company has launched a publishing division titled Jim Henson Publishing to create books and eventually expand into Television, digital production and merchandise. Jim Henson Publishing released the first book in the brand new Enchanted Sisters series: Autumn’s Secret Gift. A copy of the book was provided for review purposes, all opinions are my own. 
The Enchanted Sisters book series tells the stories of sisters: Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer who along with Mother Nature, are responsible for each turn of the season. In Enchanted Sisters Autumn’s Secret Gift, Autumn is devastated when she loses something special that Mother Nature trusted her to keep safe. A fun adventure ensues with Autumn and her sisters try to find it before the wicked Bluster Tempest and the Weeds do. Enchanted Sisters Autumn’s Secret Gift book review is upbeat, wholesome and a colorfully descriptive read. My 7 year old son wasn’t too interested in reading it but I loved it. As I read the story I imagined my former 8 year old self reading and I used that perspective, I assure you my 8 year old self loved it too! The theme of teamwork, acceptance and duty was endearing. Below is my favorite passage from Autumn’s internal monologue.
…she thought it was even more special that the Sparkles’ season-changing powers were a beautiful secret. Besides, changing the seasons wasn’t just their Sparkle Sister duty, it was their joy. The Sparkle Ceremony wasn’t always easy, but working together to accomplish it was the best feeling in the world.
The Enchanted Sisters book series contains four chapter books for readers ages 7 to 9 and each sister will star in her own book. Winter’s Flurry Adventure will be published in October 2014 while the following two chapter books will feature the adventures of Spring and Summer and will debut in 2015.
