Family Meals Are Made Easy With Silver Spur Smoked Chicken From Sams Club

March 8, 2013 By Desiree Eaglin

Now that baseball season is in full swing and taking up much of our families time in the evenings during the week, I have been on the lookout for quick and easy ways to create healthy, wholesome meals for my family. Plus, it’s always my luck that the toddler breaks something, the baby poops and the kindergarten baseball player needs help with his homework right while I’m attempting to make dinner. In other words, dinner time is complete chaos in the Eaglin household and it’s a miracle the kids aren’t fed canned cat food on a nightly basis.
One of the tricks I do to create faster meal prep times during the week is to pre-chop and wash veggies and fruit right after I purchase them at the grocery store over the weekend. I also purchase pre made salads and seasoning packets like gravy. That way, there’s little to no prep time in creating healthy side dishes that would otherwise be impossible in the amount of time I have on some days.
I am also always on the lookout for pre-cooked and pre-prepped main dishes. That is why I am excited that the Silver Spur Smoked Chicken is coming nationwide to Sams Club very soon. Silver Spur Smoked Chicken if fully cooked applewood smoked and season split chicken without the yucky neck and giblets that is easy to make and super yummy.

Given the task of creating a quick and healthy meal for my family with Silver Spur Smoked Chicken was a cinch. I simply used the pre washed potatoes and italian squash, pre made salad and gravy to create a delicious meal that my whole family devoured.

I mean, look at that guy enjoying his dinner!

The Silver Spur Smoked Chicken is easy to make which saves precious time better spent with my kids. Simple take the halved chicken out of the package, place on a cooking sheet and bake at 350′ for 30 minutes. Once the chicken is done cooking, it’ll be so moist it’ll fall off the bone and onto your plate.

For my easy side dishes, I chose mashed potatoes-a kids favorite, grilled Italian squash and salad. Grilled Italian squash is one of my favorite healthy side dishes and I serve it at least once a week. To make it, simple quarter the squash lengthwise  drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and place it on the grill for 8-10 minutes until slightly soft. Easy for anyone to do and the result is simply delicious.

I really need to get better at meal planning. I’m always rushing trying to get dinner on my table. This meal looks fabulous. I need to pick up a Silver Spur Smoked Chicken when I visit Sam’s Club later this week for sure.

Where can you get Silver spur Split chicken. My husband and I love it we used to get at Sam’s, but our’s sam’s no longer sell it plus we got the ribs too and they were just as easy as the chicken and good. So if anybody has a web site that I can order from please let me know. Thank you Thelma
