Freshfoods Mash & Serve Bowl Review and Giveaway

July 20, 2012 By Desiree Eaglin

One of my most favorite things to do for my children when they are babies is to make their baby food. I love shopping for the produce and I love preparing it. I choose high quality, organic, fresh produce and I usually make large batches and freeze it. All of this is a huge process however, with a lot of cleanup afterwards.

Sometimes a big production is not necessary and that is when the Freshfoods Mash & Serve bowl comes in perfectly handy. With this handy dandy tool, I will be able to quickly prepare snacks and meals that will not keep (like bananas for example). The bowl is ergonomically shaped and super easy to use. The grooves inside the bowl help to keep the food inside the bowl and not slip sliding all over the place. I loved that the masher had a good grip handle and was made of sturdy plastic. It is also easy to clean and is microwave safe! Perfect for trips to grandma’s house!
For the purpose of this review, I quickly mashed up some pears and blueberries to give to my 2 year old daughter. She wasn’t into it, but I wasn’t expecting her to be. The baby on the other hand, will love the steamed carrots and mashed sweet potatoes I’ll make him in a few months. 🙂
The Freshfoods Mach & Serve Bowl is made by NUK, a mom trusted company for over 50 years. NUK is the leader in convenient, reliable and usable baby products. Freshfoods by NUK is made specifically for fresh feeding for a healthy baby and is designed by Annabel Karmel.

Sweet Potatoes are a great resource for beta-carotene and potassium
Ingredients needed: 1 large sweet potato (or yam)
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Bake the potato for 1 hour on a foil lined pan. Peel off the skin, chop into cubes and mash (or blend) into a puree. You can add water as needed.

My kids eat great, but I should probably start doing this for myself, rather than mainlining chocolate.

I actually used this with my daughter when she was a baby. No babies here but I’d donate it to a friend if I won : )

So cute! What a great way to mash up food. I had to use a blender!

My babies’ favorite food was hummus.
