From the Archives: Googly Eye’d Halloween Wreath Craft Tutorial – Flash Back Friday

October 3, 2014 By Desiree Eaglin

This blog post for a googly eye’d Halloween wreath craft tutorial was originally published on my original Funny Mom Blog on October 1, 2008. It is completely unedited from the original version.

Side note: I’m still friends with Sarah from Sensibly Sassy. That’s what makes blogging so damn awesome.
———————————————-

Sarah over at Sensibly Sassy started a little bloggy-artsy-craftsy-project, cause you know — ’tis the season to be crafty.
I decided to try and make a feeble attempt at my own version of this wreath:

that I found in Parents (or Parenting I can’t remember) magazine. I loved this wreath because it is simple and quite elegant. In it’s own googly eye way.
So I thought I would go ahead and submit my bloggy-artsy-crafty-Fall wreath-project and try and convince you all to do one of your own. No time line (just do it sometime this Fall), make sure you link back to this post and have some FUN with it!

Here are my supplies.
A ready made black wreath
Googly eyes
Ready made Halloween letters
and a glue gun (not shown. for obvious reasons. because like, who wants to look at a glue gun in a photo?)
(It literally cost about $6 or $7 dollars. And you can’t beat that. Not even with a stick.)
I added googly eyes to the pumpkin because I like cutesty in my bloggy-artsty-craftsy-projects:

Here’s a close up of the googly eyes on the wreath (this picture was added purely so I could type googly again):
they were extremely easy to stick on with hot glue. Sure, I burnt my finger tips a couple of times and no longer have feeling in them, but that’s ok. It was still fun.

And here’s the end result. And yes, that’s my front door. And yes, it’s open like that all the time. And yes, if you feel like driving by at about 8:30pm at night you will see me naked. That’s ok. I won’t mind if you look :

Happy bloggy-artsy-craftsy-project ya’ll!

————————–

I still hang this wreath every Halloween. The googly eyes are dirty and yellowed now, but it’s still my favorite.
