Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch Giveaway!

September 5, 2012 By Desiree Eaglin

Something that is very near and dear to my heart is starting soon – The 7th annual Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch will start for the Halloween season on Saturday September 22nd 2012!

2007

We have been going to the Irvine Railroad Pumpkin Patch since 2007 when my oldest was just a wee whittle 9 months old. An old friend invited us to go one day in October 2007 and I packed our bags without a clue as to what to expect. She mentioned something about a train and pumpkins and that was about it. Low and behold on our first visit to the Irvine Railroad Pumpkin Patch I fell in love. We have been visiting every October since! I have made it one of our most important annual traditions.

I love the wholesome atmosphere and the genuine family fun, Pumpkin goodiness. The pumpkins are gorgeous and there are always thousands to choose from, my son loves picking out the biggest pumpkin he can carry. I adore the hay ride, picture stands and the face painting. There is always so much to do and so many beautiful picture opportunities that you could literally spend an entire day at the Irvine Railroad Pumpkin Patch.
The Pumpkin Patch is located in Locomotive Loop and Miner’s Meadow just behind the train station. Admission to the Pumpkin Patch is free, however some activities cost money.
This year’s Pumpkin Patch activities include: Train rides, hay rides, panning for gold, a child-friendly haunted house, a hay maze, a moon bounce, carnival games, cookie decorating, John Deere tractor racers, face painting (weekends only), picture stands and snack shack food.

The Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch is open daily from:
September 22nd through October 31st
Weekdays 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Weekends 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

The parking fee for Irvine Regional Park is $3.00 per vehicle on weekdays and $5.00 per vehicle on weekends.

Autumn decorations are my version of Christmas since we don’t celebrate the holiday- I have all kinds of pumpkins, pilgrims, etc. LOVE the fall weather – one of the things I miss most about living on the east coast.

I love how my daughters respond to Halloween, their excitement is contagious. Especially, my youngest who is non-verbal and has severe Autism…she manages to get out the words, Trick or Treat and Thank you even though I know speaking is hard for her. It’s her favorite holiday as she loves dressing up in costumes. 🙂 The smile on her face is worth all the effort.
