Moms Get Thrifty with Savers

October 8, 2012 By Desiree Eaglin

savers, thrift shopping, saving money, thrift stores, store, murrieta,

Savers thrift stores first opened their doors in 1954 with the core values of giving back and providing opportunities. Today there are over 250 Savers stores nationwide and they still hold true to those original core values. With a strong interest in community service, each Savers store helps local community programs; now that’s something worth shopping for.

Savers is the place for good deeds and great deals.  Moms can get great deals on quality used clothing, household items plus new & used Halloween costumes!

I was invited to the Grand Opening of Savers in Murrieta last week and I attended with an open mind and an eye for a good deal. My son and I were greeted by cheering and friendly employees. It was quite fun to be greeted with such loud enthusiasm.
I was sincerely impressed by the big, bright, organized store. I frequently shopped at 2nd hand stores as a teenager on a mission for “cool, unique threads”. Back in the early 1990’s the thrift stores I visited as a teenager were dingy and dark and required skill to navigate through the disorganization. Savers stores are the exact opposite of dingy, dark and disorganized. The stores are beautiful and organized to perfection. So much perfection in fact that I wondered if elves worked in the store after hours carefully placing the Barbie’s in the right direction:

I let me son choose whatever he wanted from the toy wall (which by the way was meticulous just like the rest of the store). He chose a bag of marbles (I only had a slight heart attack thinking about all those marbles around the house) for himself and a stick pony for his little sister.
We were very good deal-saving-shoppers and we were able to walk away with a Dodgers shirt, totally adorable jean dress for my daughter, bag of marbles, play cash register, stick pony and 4 Baby Einstein video’s for under $40! We’re going back in a few weeks and I can’t wait. Savers promises that each shopping trip is unique and I cannot wait to see our good deals next.
