My Epic Adventure with Disney Interactive and Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

Disney Interactive is gearing up to introduce Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two to the world. Set to be released on November 18th, 2012, Disney Epic Mickey 2 is the sequel to Disney Epic Mickey (released in 2010). Just like Disney Epic Mickey, Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is an open-ended platform game that allows players to choose their adventure, however Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two has many new surprises that will leave players intrigued and fully immersed with a paint brush in hand.

By a stroke of luck as if I had won the lottery (and yes, I totally squealed when I got the invitation), I was invited along with several other mom bloggers to attend the Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two media event at The Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim California on Tuesday October 9th, 2012.
Our day began with a presentation by Bill Roper-VP/GM Product Development for Disney Interactive, Peter Ong-Co-Founder and Creative Director of DreamRift and last but certainly not least, Warren Spector-Junction Point Creative Director and designer aka “The man behind the digital mouse”.

The real fun began with game demos of Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two on all of the gaming platforms. I’m not permitted to give away too much information at this time about the new technologies in Disney Epic Mickey 2, but trust me when I say that this game is mutha-freaking-awesome.

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of two demonstrates Disney uncontested ability to be at the fore front of technology. With a finger on the pulse of technology and the heart of pure nostalgia, Disney makes the two worlds collide in Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two by combining cutting edge video game technology and the Disney characters and scenes we all hold so dear.

Disneyland, Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour, Disneyland Tour, Tour GuideIn honor of tradition and nostalgia we went on a “Walk in Walt’s Footsteps” tour in Disneyland. Which included stops and facts eminent in Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, the most important and emotional of all stops along the tour was a visit to Walt’s apartment where we got to see the infamous always lit lamp first hand. We also stopped at the Enchanted Tiki room, Jungle Cruise ride, Main Street buildings (which the windows serve as ending credits) and the Opera House which holds a park bench and original carousel horse from where Walt was inspired to create an amusement park that the entire family could enjoy.

Next up was dinner at the iconic Club 33, an exclusive member only restaurant originally meant for corporate VIP’s. Stay tuned for a post on Sarcastic, Funny and Brutally Honest dedicated entirely to Club 33.

We were then escorted to watch the Disneyland Halloween fireworks, which was an absolutely spectacular show. It is a must see and you must go now!

In a grand finale of the evening, Adrienne Van Houten and Shelby Barone and I went on the Haunted Mansion ride. In an attempt to not be separated in cars we squeezed 3 of us in 1 car where only 2 should have been. We were packed in like sardines and sitting on top of each other. I have not laughed so hard or for so long in my life; I don’t think I saw a single thing on the ride; it was truly hilarious.

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will be available on starting on November 18th, 2012 on several gaming platforms; including Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows and the Wii U. Disney Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion is the Nintendo 3DS version of Disney Epic Mickey 2: Power of Two.

This is not a compensated or sponsored post. I was invited as a guest of Disney Interactive to participate in the activities stated above in order to facilitate the game review. All opinions are my own and I know, you think my opinions are awesome.
