SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular 2014

Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld San Diego

Spooktacular

The Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld San Diego is a colorful and family fun celebration that is anything but spooky. Free with general admission and going every weekend in the month of October, the Halloween Spooktacular is where Halloween meets the sea. We were invited as members of the media to the Spooktacular kickoff event was last Saturday in sunny San Diego, California.

The bright and colorful family fun festivities are designed best for kids 12 years and under, who are invited to go in costume and enjoy trick-or-treating, colorful costumed characters and tons of other treats and goodies and best yet: it’s all FREE!

Funny Fact: I have about 12 pictures of the “pumpkinfish” guy pictured above. He totally did a mini-photo shoot for me. I love it.

The Hub is the Pumpkinfish Patch

The hub of Halloween Spooktacular is Otto and Penelope’s Pumpkinfish Patch (on the lawn in front of Animal Connections), where kids can decorate cookies, paint pumpkins and meet a spirited cast of characters such as Colonel Cornelius Candy Corn and Lady Candy Corn, Red the Licorice Kid and his cowgirl pal Sally Taffy, along with Princess Davine and her guards, Chuck and Gourdy.

DJs Rock Candy and Cotton Candy gets the party started and keeps it going all day long during Halloween Spooktacular, playing music and leading activities. Plus, back by popular demand are Allure and Capri the beautiful mermaids that pose for photo ops, Goodie and Greta Gumdrop and a silly School of Fish!

SeaWorld's Halloween Spooktacular 2014

Families won’t want to miss SeaWorld’s Halloween-themed shows, including Clyde & Seamore’s Spooky Adventure at Sea Lion and Otter Stadium and Sesame Street’s Countdown to Halloween over at Sesame Street Bay of Play. We got to catch a glimpse of the Sesame Street’s Countdown to Halloween at Sesame Street Bay of Play and it was totally adorable. My kids love the Sesame Street characters!

SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular highlights include:

  • Trick-or-Treat Sweets: Kids are encouraged to come in costume to trick or treat among 10 sea-themed stations. Trick-or-treat bags are provided.
  • Otto and Penelope’s Pumpkinfish Patch: tons of activities including picture opportunities, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, music and so much more!
  • Spooktacular Shows: Clyde & Seamore’s Spooky Adventure, at Sea Lion and Otter Stadium, guests can revisit sea lions Clyde and Seamore and their buddy O.P. Otter® for all the kooky fun as they visit Uncle Schmedley’s Castle.
  • Sesame Street’s Countdown to Halloween, at Sesame Street’s Bay of Play musical stage, features Count Von Count, Elmo, Zoe and friends. Kids can also capture photos of their favorite Sesame Street character and enjoy interactive games.
