A Tradition, Made Spooky

Only second to Christmas, Halloween is my second favorite holiday. I like to decorate the entire house and really get in to the spirit of the season. Every year, we host a small Halloween party for our favorite friends. The kids come dressed in costume and the moms come ready for a good, wholesome time. Our annual Halloween party is a potluck with our friends, I like to serve mostly savory Halloween snacks and I like to have fun with the beverages. This year, I wanted to do something extra spooky and special and so I created this spooky Halloween punch using orange Fanta soda. The punch is a frothy, sweet treat and it looks really cool on the Halloween treats table. I even added gummy eyeballs to pump up the spooky factor. My kids loved it!

How To Make Spooky Halloween Punch

With just a few ingredients and very little steps, you can create a one-of-a-kind #spookysnacks punch that will impress your friends and wow the kids! I put my spooky Halloween punch in a footed glass bowl, but you may put your punch in to anything you have at home. This recipe is adapted from Tidy Mom’s rubber ducky punch.

Ingredients:

1 packet of orange drink mix
1 (2 liter) bottle of Orange Fanta
1 (64oz) bottle of Unsweetened White Grape Juice
3/4 cup of sugar
8 scoops of fat-free Orange Sherbet
Gummy eyeballs for decoration (optional)

Directions:

Chill beverage ingredients in refrigerator over night
Soften Orange sherbet on counter for 1/2 hour before serving punch
In a large bowl, combine powdered juice packet, sugar and cold white grape fruit juice. Stir to blend.
Slowly add the orange Fanta soda
Float 8 scoops of softened sherbet on top (the sherbet is what makes the punch frothy)
Garnish with gummy eye balls

Combine the powdered juice packet, sugar and cold white grape fruit juice. Stir until blended:

Keep Them Hydrated While Trick or Treating!

Whenever we go trick or treating, whether we go down several blocks or just a few, I always pack a few Dasani water bottles for our trip. It’s a great way to keep the kids hydrated during all the fun!

Save Money, Live Better

Being a mom of four means that I have to stretch the dollar as much as possible. To do so, I shop for almost everything at Walmart – where you can get way more for way less. Soon there will be upcoming demos in Walmart stores featuring Fanta, Oreos and Wheat Thins. The demo is taking place on the weekend of the 25th.
