What's in The Funny Mom's Purse? - The Funny Mom Blog

Keepin it fully stocked & Keepin it Real

Being a busy mom of four little kids means that I always have to prepared for whatever the day has to throw at me. From barf at the store to boo-boo’s at the park and everything in between I can’t tell you how many times I have relied on my fully stocked purse essentials to get me through the day. I have learned through my momlife years that having a few things for me and a thousand things for the kids in my purse will allow me to Macgyver through any trial or tribulation (or maybe just a trip to the park).

It is imperative that I keep a purse stocked with not only essentials for my well being, but I also need to carry along small activities that will keep my busy little kid bodies occupied. I regularly switch between purses and diaper bags depending upon the days activities but I always remember to grab my essential-kit-on-the-go. What’s in my purse? I’ll tell you!

Inside of my purse is:

  • Crayons
Crayons are the perfect activity while waiting in the doctors office or a busy restaurant!
  • Centrum VitaMints
Busy mom’s need to take their vitamins too! Centrum VitaMints are rad because you don’t need water and they have a fresh taste. New Centrum VitaMints are adult multivitamins with a refreshingly minty taste you can take/enjoy any time of day with or without food or water.
  • Water
I ALWAYS have a few water bottles on me at all times!
  • ChapStick Total Hydration
Now that Fall/Winter is here the weather is dry and so are my lips. This stuff is 100% Natural!
  • Keys-Sunglasses-Phone
I keep my wallet in my car (don’t tell my neighbors!) because I’ve forgotten it at home too many times!
  • Advil
Is it just me or is having a lot of kids a headache? You can always count on me to have a travel sized Advil! Use Advil tablets for headaches, minor arthritis and other joint pain, muscle aches and pains of the common cold
  • Antibacterial Wipes
I am afraid to admit I am a germaphobe at heart and shopping carts and restaurant tables gross me out.
  • Chewing Gum
I like to chew. Chewing is my favorite.
  • Fun washi tape
For the same reason that I carry crayons, I carry fun washi tape – it keeps the kids occupied!
  • Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables
I do NOT have time to get sick! Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables provide immune support which is perfect for this time of sick year!
  • Felt Doll Bandages
I created these adorable felt bandages for my daughters dolls. The tutorial is below!

Whenever we are out running errands or at the park my oldest daughter loves to bring along her doll. Now that she is at the right age of learning empathy and care taking she loves, loves, loves the felt bandages I made to take care of her favorite dolly. You can make them too!

How To Make Felt Doll Bandages

Materials:
Felt – brown, cream, pink, red, blue
Sharp Scissors
Glue
Small Brown Marker

Instructions:
Using a bandage as a guide, trace around the bandages onto the brown felt. Cut out the bandage shape keeping in mind that it doesn’t have to be perfect! I like it when things are intentionally made to look home made! Cut out a small square out of the cream felt and apply with glue to the brown bandage. Cut out a small heart out of the pink, red and blue felt and apply with glue to the cream square. Using a small brown marker, create 9 small dots on each side of the bandage. It’s so easy right?

The craft took me approximately 30 minutes to create 6 bandages, but that 30 minutes was well spent with how much love and care my daughter can now express on her favorite dollies “boo-boo’s”!

Now that my daughter’s dolly is well taken care of, allow me to tell you my healthy momlife secret to keeping me up and running. Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables is like a rocket ship blasting off to full immune-supporting goodness! Each chewable serving has more vitamin c than 10 oranges and they’re loaded with B vitamins to enhance my energy to keep up with all of the kids!

Of course as always: I get all of my purse well being essentials from Walmart. The store I go to buy one thing and leave with 20! Just the other day I had to hold myself back from buying all of the new dishware and all I did was go in for more Emergen-C! Ha!

    My son is always telling me his Blankie Bear has an “ouchie”. These little bandages would be such a fun surprise for him! As for the purse essentials, I’m terrible about taking care of myself – my bag is always full of things for the kids. I think I need to rethink my strategy because Centrum VitaMints and Emergen-C Chewables would be a great addition to my bag! {client}
