Frugal Mom Tip #1

July 22, 2012 By Desiree Eaglin

I am a frugal person to my core, to my core people. I cut corners and look for deals and coupons wherever possible. I am frugal for the sole purpose of saving money for the more important things. Like pedicures, girls night’s out, beer and expensive strollers.
Coupons.answers.com is a wonderful site where you can find various coupons.

As a mother of 3 I have to stretch my budget even further than the average joe. I like my children to have nice quality things and I like being able to go places with them. So cutting corners on such things as clothing is one way that I am able to do these things for them.

One of the ways I am able to save money is by re-purposing my daughters clothes. I have found that baby dresses that she has now outgrown can become tops that she can wear now!
Cute right? And you can’t even tell that the top she is wearing at almost 2 years old is actually a dress meant for a 9 month old! And yes, she is filthy. This was her fourth outfit of the morning.
I keep all of her old baby dresses off to the side of her closet and use them whenever possible. It’s a great way to extend the use of her clothing that would otherwise sit in a box in the garage (because as much as I am frugal I am also a hoarder and refuse to get rid of their baby clothes).
Also? I’m bringing the side pony tail back in style.

I did the same thing! Some of those outfits were just too cute to give away, or get rid of. And I love the side pony too. If only my daughter’s hair were long enough to fit in one 🙂

I have told you before and I shall tell you again…I want to EAT HER FACE!!! I save all of Jackson’s clothes for Parker. I turn Winter pj’s into Summer pj’s with a snip of the scissors! I refuse to spend $$$ on their everyday clothes when all they do is outgrow them overnight!

Ok I totally do this! Ha! But I do it b/c they are so cute and I want her to keep wearing them…or maybe I just don’t want her to grow up yet : )

Oh, my Desiree, she is SO STINKIN’ CUTE!! You are gonna have SO much trouble when she gets older. Tell her daddy to just take out his shotgun and clean it when the guys come to pick her up for dates. Make sure he’s cleaning it when he lets them know what time to have her home!
