Do you have a little one at home about to start school like I do? Starting school for the very first time can be scary for little kids, there is so much that is unknown about school that can scare kids. I would like to introduce The Schoolies to you. The Schoolies are a colorful book collection which allow you to take your kids on school readiness adventures with adorable characters like: Mr. Mouse, Mrs. Meow, Mr. Meow, Killy, Hayden Hoot, Spencer, Marvin Mouse, Sid Snail, Suzy Snail, Pete Hopper, Lydia and Leeza, Winston Worm, Wally Worm, Zippy, Newman Beaker, Larry Einstein, Trevor, Chip, C.J. Crawley and Miss Ellie. Preschoolers will learn from start to finish about school, the classroom and basics like the alphabet and shapes.

Written by Ellen Crimi-Trent, an artist and designer, The Schoolies are a colorful, whimsical set of books that will encapture your child’s attention and keep her engaged. I’ve never fallen in love with a set of books so quickly as I have with The Schoolies. I love books. I love children’s books. And I LOVE The Schoolies. And so does my daughter:

Meet the Schoolies!

“In a town not very far away from here live the Schoolies. They all go to Angler Elementary School.”

My School Day – Follow along as Spencer the owl gets ready for school. From waking up to his favorite lessons to the bus ride home, kids will love learning to tell time as they spend a day with the Schoolies. Includes a play clock with moveable hands so young readers can turn to the right time as the Schoolies enjoy their day.

School House – Fold-out pages create four scenes in and around the Schoolies school house. Includes press-out play characters and accessories, plus sticker sheets. This book is my oldest son’s favorite (he’s 6), it’s perfect for the creative child that loves to use their imagination!

Let’s Get Ready For School – Early learning book with wipe-clean pages so that all of the activities can be repeated, reinforcing learning and perfect for loads of fun. I’ve even taken this book on longer road trips with us, my daughter loves having something to do in the car.

Making Friends and My First Day of School Storybooks – Two reassuring and positive stories about overcoming shyness and being nervous to start school. Books include two sheets of fun Schoolies stickers.

Activity Flash Cards – Super cute boxful of 26, double-sided Schoolies activity flash cards to help children learn their ABC, 123, colors and shapes. My daughter LOVES the flashcards:

Teaching With Color And Whimsy

When my son was about this age, I had created flashcards to teach him these same lessons before he started preschool. They were plain and boring and on college index cards. No fun and definitely no whimsy. My daughter is fortunate enough to learn from the colorful, fun Schoolies flashcards which she adores. I mean, how could you not love these?
I appreciate the sturdy thick construction of the entire Schoolies collection. The books are printed on thick cardstock with rich, vibrant colors and of course – adorable characters and enriching stories.
