As much as Mattel has tried to market Barbie as a feminist, the doll’s famous figure, notably her teeny-tiny waist and relatively large bust, has always overshadowed those attempts. In response to years of complaints about her unrealistic body, Barbie finally got a major appearance makeover. As a mom of two young daughters, I couldn’t be happier with this decision and the impact it will have on the future generations to come.

I think it’s great/awesome/spectacular that Barbie has become so diverse. Every little/young girl needs to have/should have a diverse group of friends and now her Barbie collection can reflect that !! Bravo Mattel.
